The Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins honored the Negro Leagues Saturday night at Miller Park, with each team wearing historic uniforms. The Marlins wore the jerseys of the original Triple-A Miami Marlins of the International League, each adorned with a “29″ patch to honor Satchel Paige, who played for the Marlins for three seasons. The Brewers wore the 1923 uniforms of the Milwaukee Bears of the Negro National League, and introduced former Negro League players George Altman and Lonnie Harris in a pregame ceremony.
The Brewers blanked the Marlins 6-0, and will try for the series sweep this afternoon.
