While the actress is on a psychiatric hold in a hospital, her parents are arguing to take control of her finances in court.
Amanda Bynes' parents were in a California court today asking for their daughter to be put under their conservatorship.
But judge Glen M. Reiser delayed making a decision Friday, reports AP, saying there was no rush to act on the request because Bynes is under a two-week psychiatric hold at a hospital.
Reiser scheduled a hearing on the issue Aug. 9 and said he wants to meet one-on-one with Bynes before making a decision.
The troubled actress, 27, was put under the psychiatric hold on Monday after she started a fire (getting gasoline on her little dog and setting her own pants aflame) on the driveway of a home in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks, where she grew up.
It was the latest in a string of strange events.
TMZ reports that in court documents Bynes' parents, Rick and Lynn, say their daughter has become "extremely paranoid about being watched," and she covers smoke alarms with towels and tapes windows shut to prevent cameras from shooting her.
They also say she has "profound issues with her body image" and is "obsessed with the fact that she (and others) are ugly." Bynes has repeatedly called people, including President and Mrs. Obama, "ugly" on Twitter.
The parents also say Amanda had $4 million in the bank, but she is quickly blowing through her bank account. She withdrew $100,000 on June 4 and another $100,000 on July 2 and they have no idea where the money went.
They believe she is spending "a substantial amount" for marijuana and other illegal substances, reports TMZ. And they say they think their daughter is homeless at the moment.
In May, Bynes was arrested in New York for allegedly throwing a marijuana bong out the window of her 36th-floor Manhattan apartment. Last year, she was charged in Los Angeles with driving on a suspended license, the license having been suspended after she was charged with driving under the influence and misdemeanor hit and-run.
