Dodgers pull a crazy trick play to nab a baserunner

In last night’s game between the Reds and the Dodgers, Shin-Soo Choo was on first base when a single got lined into center. Choo had gone on a hit and run, though, and had no idea really where the ball went. He slid into second, and then … confusion.
Hanley Ramirez had jumped as if he was going to catch the ball, which initially befuddled Choo. Then he went to tag Choo, who got up, with no idea what was going on. Then, second baseman Skip Schumacher made a wild gesture that somehow made Choo think the ball had been caught. For whatever reason, Choo took off back to first. Halfway there the throw came in, and Choo was tagged out, on one of the weirdest plays you’re likely to see.
