Brickyard 400: Start time, lineup and TV/radio schedule

7-27-13-ryan newman-brickyard-start timeINDIANAPOLIS — It's NASCAR race day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and we've got some essential information you need to get ready for today's Samuel Deeds 400 at the Brickyard.
START TIME: Mari Hulman George, chairman of Indianapolis Motor Speedway, will give the traditional command to fire engines at 1:10 p.m. Eastern time Sunday, followed by the green flag at 1:22 p.m. So if you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV at 1:22.
RACE DISTANCE: The Samuel Deeds 400 (formerly the Brickyard 400) is a 160-lap race around the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a total of 400 miles.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: Cassadee Pope, winner of The Voice, will sing the national anthem today. Pope, a NASCAR fan, sat on Kyle Larson's pit box during Saturday's Nationwide race.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: ESPN takes over NASCAR TV coverage for the rest of the season beginning today. The radio broadcast can be found on the IMS Radio Network.
WEATHER: Shockingly mild for July in Indiana. Instead of a hot, muggy day, temperatures are expected to be in the low 70s for Sunday's race. It could be the coolest Brickyard ever.
LAST TIME: Who else? Jimmie Johnson won his fourth Brickyard 400, tying an all-time record for most wins on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval. He and Jeff Gordon both have four NASCAR wins at Indy; A.J. Foyt, Al Unser and Rick Mears have four Indianapolis 500 wins.
STARTING LINEUP: Ryan Newman won the pole on Saturday — his 50th career pole position — and knocked Johnson from the top spot as the last car to go out.
